Last night Zig performed in the School of Rock's Radiohead show. Radiohead is his favorite band ever, so you can imagine how exciting it was for him to be doing their songs on stage. As usual, the kids were AMAZING, the teachers were AMAZING, the parents so supportive.
Here's two songs with Zig on drums.
Check out Zig's latest performances at the Clash vs. Sex Pistols show that happened Saturday May 3rd at Berbati's in Portland. These kids are amazing, no?
After all that I've done in my life related to punk, and having the Clash and Sex Pistols as my life's soundtrack over the years, it was really mind-blowing to be watching my kid perform this stuff. No mama tears this time, but I did have to keep myself from starting a mosh pit!

Last night was Zig's second show with School of Rock at Berbati's.
He did Van Halen's Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love and Saxon's Strong Arm of the Law. There was a terrific crowd and the kids did so well. Zig's drum teacher came up to me afterwards and had many great things to say about Zig and his drumming, plus what a terrific kid he is to work with. He said something like "Give me another 6 months with him and he'll be incredible!" How cool is that?
The theme of the show was L.A. Metal vs. British Metal. I loved the Brit metal part, for sure. The Sabbath song was awesome and also someone had the brilliant idea to throw in Spinal Tap's Stonehenge, complete with a dancing sprite (a short kid wearing a white feather boa). Awesome.
