Today I set up the backdrop and did a few portraits to use at the Belmont Street Fair in September. As a fund raiser for the House of Dreams cat shelter, I will be offering on-the-spot portraits of people and/or their dogs for ten bucks a pop (what a deal!) and needed some display images to entice folks to sit for my camera.
Zig and Raskal are so photogenic...
...but Boyfren wasn't really into having his picture taken.
This is Lily, a most amazing human who happens to be shaped like a dog.
And this is Ming, rich with all the lovable traits of a pug and then some.
What a difference a roll of film makes. The digital process is great for so many reasons, but sometimes you just gotta shoot some film to be reminded what photography can be if you take the time. For one thing, grain, not pixels, is where it's at. Taking the time to develop film was not the tedious chore that I was remembering it to be. It was a joy.
