a night out
The Slats came through town last week, and I happily made them a big meal before their show at Holocene. It was great to see Jon and get to go out (at night! Thanks, Jayne for taking Zig overnight so I could do grown-up stuff!) to see their show, which was impressive. Those boys put out a ton of energy and effort and they sounded so great. I've only ever seen them at Gabe's in Iowa City, and man what a difference a great venue can make.
I shot a few photos with my small point-and-shoot camera and I'm sad to say that it doesn't do well in low-light situations, with or without flash. Waaah. I love that I can carry it in my purse and not be burdened with a heavy, bulky camera, but then it often leaves much to be desired in the photo-quality department.
